One thing with New Media to keep in mind is the expansion and implementation of new technologies of the time. I believe 2 things that can be possibly implemented into the future new media is virtual and augmented reality. An example of old media is art, with a new media "upgrade" of online museums. The next step for this could be a virtual reality museum, where a user puts on a headset and is transported to a virtual museum they can roam around freely. This is similar to the SecondLife virtual reality with the ability to free roam and socialize, but elevated to the next level with a full body dive into this virtual world. Augmented reality can also be used but in a different way. Perhaps projected holograms or diagrams during in-person museum tours can allow users to dive deeper into the art or exhibits they are viewing.

    Hello Brannon,

    This is a smart idea. An online museum will allow people all over the world view the contents of the museum and with virtual reality be able to see it close and personal. Even though most museum have website with virtual reality, art work will be more realistic like when you visit the museum in person.

The internet has grown in many ways people did not see coming. Over the last 20 years, the internet has exploded into an ever-growing organism, evolving to fit every days new wants and needs. With the introduction of new media, I believe that we as consumers faced more options than ever when it came down to customizing our own experience. We really have full creative freedom in many cases when it comes down to how we want to present ourselves over the internet. This is very prevalent in social media. In a very popular platform, Snapchat, we are able to send videos and pictures to friends in a temporary manner. This means that stuff that is sent through the platform is sent with a timer, allowing the sender to choose however long they want their pictures and videos to be visible for. In the case of the receiver breaking the rules and screen shooting a picture or video, the sender gets a notification.
