Blog: Next New

One thing with New Media to keep in mind is the expansion and implementation of new technologies of the time. I believe 2 things that can be possibly implemented into the future new media is virtual and augmented reality. An example of old media is art, with a new media "upgrade" of online museums. The next step for this could be a virtual reality museum, where a user puts on a headset and is transported to a virtual museum they can roam around freely. This is similar to the SecondLife virtual reality with the ability to free roam and socialize, but elevated to the next level with a full body dive into this virtual world. Augmented reality can also be used but in a different way. However, I believe new media can be used to fix, or at least alleviate some of these issues using psychology. I think the implementation of a regularly updated blog can be used to solve some of the issue of construction at Baruch. As a student, you really cant be sure or believe some of the timelines of these constructions projects at this school, such as the construction in the library, plaza, or the 23rd Street building. A blog would be a medium to share progress on some of these projects. For example, during the elevator fiasco with the 23rd street building where the lines were out the door, a simple progress check would make some students more at ease. A simple "If you're plan
